Thaipusam in Penang (Year 2009)

I don't know what to say .. The big event is outside from my house .. And basically I took pictures of the event only on the second day (did not take pictures on the first day , they actually took coconuts and smash them to the floor) It is really crowded O__O I never thought Penang got this HUGE population .. Well some of them actually came from other states of Malaysia such as Kedah , Perlis , Perak and KL .. So you can expect endless queues , traffic jams and lots of Indians .. There are a lot of whites and chinese too ..

1) The crowds are dancing 24/7 They are so excited and happy to dance .. Day to night ..

2) Oh my god Liverpool D: ? (I'm not a fan of football , don't worry)

3) Yes .. This year's Thaipusam majorly sponsored by Hotlink :D

4) This is something you definitely will see in Thaipusam .. They actually pierce themselves with a lot of needles (ouch!)

5) OH YAY FREE DRINKS (you MUST say thank you to these people)

    

6) And again , look at the crowds ! Wow ..

7) Indians worship to these .. (we can too in fact!)

8) Stamina Boost +2 (long distance walking along with the crowds , you wouldn't know how far have you been)

9) They need to eat too !! (to replenish their *whistles and dances* .. Oh Roti John .__.)

10) One of the *hot markets* this year .. Selling a variety of cartoon character balloons ! (theres no Stitch >_< )

11) Bells , orchids , piercings , feathers and determination ..

In a nutshell , Thaipusam is really a huge experience , mostly to everyone .. If you missed this event this year , look forward on year 2010 !! It's not worth it to stay at home doing nothing .. Although there will be a *massive traffic jam* , but still its worth it :D
